My mum is a printer (or works in a printing company) and from what I understand, the paper is plain and non shiny to begin with, then it gets the information/image printed onto it and then a final coating to make it shiny. The paper cannot be shiny to begin with or the inks would never be able to settle.

However, maybe look in Smiths or Paperchase (or even the London Graphics store, Atlantis or Hobby Craft) for things like coated paper to see if they have anything similar to what your after. Be aware though that you may require special inks and alot of drying time to get things to settle.

I used to work in reprographics & the shiny paper used in a lot of high quality flyers & brochures is known as art paper & is quite costly.

You might be better off costwise looking at something like HP satin finish photopaper. Staples is the best place to buy from & a pack of 100 A4 sheets is around the £8 mark from there
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
