Mum's 50th Ideas

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if you could give me some inspriation...

It is my Mum's 50th in July and I want her to have something a bit more special for her birthday...

I am doing a family party for her and doing all the food and the cake, but I am a bit stuck on what presents to get her... Any ideas?

I am thinking of having a canvas done of her 1st grandson (7 months) which will really be off him, but I am stuck on what else to do!

Your help would be gratefully received!

Thanks
Mad

  • Hi Mad,
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here but if you are looking for a really special gift, I make silver fingerprint jewellery (pendants, charms, bracelets, keyrings, cufflinks etc) My prices are very, very competitive. I won't post the link here but I'll PM it to you instead. Hope that's ok.

    Thanks,
    Julie

    Hi,

My parents are 50 this year too and as I was supposed to be away my sister and I were planning on making 50 cupcakes/fairy cakes, whatever people like to call them, and arranging them to make a '5' and a '0'. That will be a shock to them! :rotfl:

I was also planning on doing 50 little gifts but I'm not sure whether I can afford that anymore, living in France is too expensive!

I have been known to spend hours making photo books, which she appreciates. :)

I don't think my mum even wishes to acknowledge her birthday, people spent years believing she was 39 :rotfl:

Anyway, I like to give personalised gifts as it shows effort and can be treasured :)
I read a thread on here and someone had sent a link about a book on Amazon, where your mum fills in the questions and gives it back to you, I think that's a nice idea... I would probably learn a few things.

I shall have a proper think and return to see what other ideas are appearing.

I think your idea of a canvas is a great one- but why not make it more special and have a whole family one done for her?
my sister did this for her in laws golden wedding anniversary - she got all the grandchildren together and had a photo taken of them together and they were absolutely delighted - they showed it to everyone and said it made their anniversary really special.
It's not often a family has a whole family portrait done and I am sure she would love it
