You probably know mineral oil very well if you have a baby, because baby oil is 100% mineral oil, usually with fragrance added, mineral oil isn’t the most fragrant of substances.

According to the Cosmetics Safety Database mineral oil is linked to cancer, allergies and immunotoxicity, is linked to toxicity in other biological systems in the body and irritation of the skin, eyes or lungs, though of course all these are debatable and not conclusively proven.

Mineral oil has also been linked to a number of skin problems, including acne. The problem with mineral oil in moisturizers and other skin care products and cosmetics is that it clogs the pores of the skin. This is why it can lead to acne, and also means that the skin is more limited in it’s natural ability to purge toxins.

And some consider that mineral oil used in skin care and other products can lead to premature aging.

The dangers of mineral oil in cosmetics and skin care products are, however, subject to debate like all these things, and the cosmetics industry and big skin care companies maintain that it is perfectly safe and works well.

Add salt to it and use it as a body scrub,
    polishing stainless steel
slather it on your feet then pop them in plastic bags, wrap in a towel and stay put for 20 mins.

I use coconut oil for skin rather than baby oil, its pretty nasty stuff.

My late OH used to use it on his skin when he was in the sun.He was always a beautiful shade of brown during the summer, whereas me I just turn a gorgeous shade of bright pink and suffer with heat rash I love the sun but being very fair skinned it doesn't love me so I have to stay in the shade
