in Cutting tax
My wife is a foreign national and unable to work in the uk but in view of the recent change changes -can i claim her tax allowance?--also who do apply to for the issue of a new number?-the last time i asked the job centre they pointed my to the tax office and i was passed from place to place and met a wall of unhelpfullness--she cant make any claim to public funds on her visa or work.

No, you only get your own tax allowance.
She wants a NI number? You need to contact the HMRC. I don't know if they'll give her one if she isn't allowed to work or claim, why would she need one other than to try to do those illegally, that's what they'll think.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Not sure what you're referring to other than Mr Cameron's promise to review a 'married allowance' if the conservatives get in? But - as previous post - no such facility at the moment (unless you or your wife were born before 6th April 1935)If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

No, its just part of the Conservative's manifesto - it won't happen unless they win the election (but even so, I dont think they have thought it through properly).£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
