Tenants in common

Sorry if this is not the right place but there is something bugging me about Tenants in Common. I 'phoned the solicitor where our deeds are held and asked about this. He gave me the wording to use to make declarations to add to the deeds. I did this exactly as he said and sent them off to him. However, when I look at the Land Registry site I notice they actually charge for official forms to fill in for this to become effective. I have informed them of what I have done and asked if they are required to know about the change but have received no replies. Have also asked the person in the solicitors office who gave me the original advice but he too has not replied.
Does anyone know, do the Land Registry need to be advised about the declarations we made?

I filled a form in that I got from land registry to declare that we were tennants in common.
It didn't cost anything, and came back in a week. I don't think your declaration is valid unless you inform them.
She also advised that one of us write to the other one severing out joint tenancy and kept it with the wills.
Hope that helps.
You can print of the form on line or just ring them and ask for one

hollyp is right. You actually have to sever the tenancy by one of you writing to the other informing them that you are doing so. You can then notify the Land Registry that this has been done and send a copy of the severance notice.0
