Hi guys
Has anyone got any advice about ads like this? Too good to be true?
http://jobs.vivastreet.co.uk/mlm+bristol-city-centre-bs1/home-based-data-entry---excellent-pay-and-flexible-hours/23722723
How do I make sure I'm not getting ripped off?
Thanks
Tris

it doesnt look as bad as some i have seen.
i saw one today promising you would earn £580 for 500 stuffed & posted envelopes and 460 for 60 typed pages! of course you had to pay them £30 first of all to register!
just be a bit wary, if they ask for money then i think they are not a legitimate employer is what i would say.
and if it is genuine! let me know please! thanksBSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Well said Don79 and yes these work at home opportunities like Data Entry and Stuffing envelopes are bad news.
Especially if you are in the UK.
The reason data entry positions in the UK do not exist is that the Companies that want Data Entry are Offshoring the work to Asia etc.
Asian people generally have language barriers with the UK but they can type excellently and will work for as little as £2 an hour so I ask you why would anyone in the UK need to pay much more.
As for stuffing of envelopes well thats an old one and everyone should steer well clear. I myself have been taken in by them when I was very very young and yes pay money up front and get nothing back in return other than £££££££ less. Most of the Envelope stuffing companies would also use a PO BOX for return as they are very hard to trace.
Be wary be very wary.
If you have a good voice why not look at Homeshoring - it sometimes gets overlooked as a Homeworking Opportunity and has proven to be 90% Good but do bear in mind that even some Homeshoring Companies can give you a bad deal. You have to find the right one. Do some browser seraching and I am sure you will find the right fit soon.
Good Luck x0 -

Hi, please do not waste your time or money on this, I stupidly did and all you are doing is posting that advert on various websites and job websites hoping people will respond and send you the money for a list of websites that you did, to do it all over again, not worth it honestly. If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of car payments.;)
Everyone is entitled to an opinion whether you think its right or wrong, courtesy costs nothing :cool:0 -
yeh i had a bad time wiv one of these too. agree with the others, dont bother.0

I would advise using something like people per hour for data entry roles. not going to be amazing pay rates as advise above there are people around the world that will do the same for 2 or 3p per hour.. example odesk.... accounting jobs going to freelancers that work for less than $2 per hour..0

Exactly my point Slackda and there is no Race card to be pulled on this one as its mearly cultural.
If a white person had their first language as Urdu or Gujurati then they too would have language barriers but again their typing skills will be amazingly good. Likewise I know Asian Agents who where born abroad come to the UK and actually pick up a British Accent with no Language Barriers. I have colleagues that can actually speak better than me and they were born in Asia and then came over here when they were very young so they picked up a Good UK Accent. Homesourcing has never been about Colour
I was actually being generous when I said £2 I know that0 -
Hmmmm did you ask for information? Did they ask for £5.99 for the training materials? This sounds suspiciously like the one I have posted about, just a different e-mail address.0
