Foreign Hertz cars £1 a day!

I got this e-mail today - might help anyone that wants to drive to Europe this weekend - please call the number to check availability instead of using the website, I've been told that's not so up to date!:

Dear All,

As you know, following the volcanic disruption across Europe, we have a number of cars displaced. Many of these cars are in the wrong country, or in Northern French ports, when they should be in Paris or the South of France.

In order to try to repatriate these cars, Hertz is looking for help from people who may be inspired to travel one-way by a great £1 / €1 fare we have created specially for those who bring the cars back to where they are from - but only if they do it before 30th April!

To help get these people to know about this opportunity, we would be grateful if you could forward the attached document to your family / friends / contacts - anyone who may be interested!!!

You need to double check though because that list is not linked to a live system but the people at the call center have access to a full list, or so I am told.
The only problem for me is that it expires on the 30th April and there are no UK cars to bring back - otherwise I would be very tempted to pick up a car and drive it to France / Spain for the BH and come back in a UK car.

Think I might have to call tomorrow. I quite fancy the E Class Merc they need returning to Germany - as I get staff travel on our airline, it mighht just be a nice road trip! Thanks for the link OP.
