i've been reading all the stuff on this site about bank charges, since august 2002 i have been charged over £400 off my bank for going £10 over my overdraft or for a returned direct debit, does any 1 think it is worth me claiming these back? or is it not worth my time? i quite like my bank (except the extortionate £35 charges) but the money would come in extremely handy as my partner is out of work.

Proud to be dealing with my debts!;)
Why is a person that handles your money called a broker?!

Its for you to decide if it is worth getting £400 back for writing a couple of letters. Personally, I would think it is worth while. Take a look at https://www.consumeractiongroup.com for info on letters to write.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

OF COURSE IT IS WORTH GETTING THIS MONEY BACK. I got my cheque this week after a few months of letters etc. The cheque you get back will be bigger than the 400 as there will be interest added on to it. If you don't want too much hassle, just write the first couple of letters and then when they offer you some feeble amount (in your case it will be less than 200 I suspect) decide if you want to take it or if you want the stress of getting what was unlawfully taken from you. Either way, if you ended up in this forum at all - you need the money. Hope you are able to spend it on something nice or sensible. Good luck.24.06.14 12 st 12 lb (waist 45" at fattest part of belly)
