in Cutting tax
Hi,
I had been working aborad for a number of years, taxed in a different jurisdiction and returned in September 2009 to take up a full time job again in the UK. I started paying tax immediately, and as such can't have had access to my £6,000 personal allowance - am i entitled to a rebate on this amount???

It depends on whether you are now resident in the UK. You need to download form P86 from www.hmrc.gov.uk and send it to your tax office with your P60. Why didnt you sort this out when you came back?£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

Fengirl, because i am living in the north of ireland, although i was still working in the south for the last couple of years, i had bought a property in the north a couple of years ago nad was commuting across the border, thus i was resident in the north but tax resident in the south - !0
