New TV

Hello,
OH and I have always been a bit anti-TV, not for any particular reason, just don't really have time to watch and hate that there is a lot of rubbish on a lot of the time. Anyway, we have now decided that we want to get a TV as redecorating the lounge, and might as well get a flatscreen digital and all that jazz.
I would like a bit of help with where to start looking - there are so many about,like Tesco, using the shop bot, going into the high street and I am finding it all very daunting!
I don't want a huge TV - no more than 32". Would like built in DVD player too. Obviously don't want to spend too much money! Any ideas???
