Hi,

Am on maternity leave at the moment so am checking my wage slips to fill in tax credit info.

My code is 647L/O what does the /O mean? Is this normal? :rotfl:

Thanks

Not quite sure what that means ........ but if you consider the '0' relates to the tax year ..... sorry, that's wrong.

I'v seen this before and can only deduce that some employers have their IT set up to accept 647/1 (where the '1' means Week or Month 1 ie non-cumulative) .......... but in the more usual case where the '1' doesn't exist (and the code is cumulative) they insert a '0' instead of the more usual space character?

Thanls for your reply. So the O doesn't mean anything extra has been deducted?

Shouldn't be .... but post the figures from your last payslip, if unsure, and someone will check it (Gross pay / Month number / tax code / tax deducted).

But I think it's just the way they're expressing a normal cumulative tax code.

Thanks...my wage slips are a bit complicated because I am maternity leave.

They got my leaving date wrong then corrected my pay etc...very confusing. Plus work haven't posted the last couple to me so am going in to pick them up tomorrow.

OK ............ but you can do a DIY check on here with one of the payslips that is straightforward if you wish :-

....... but I have seen a '0' after the Code before and it's simply how they pad out the character where a '1' would occasionally reside
