Yes removing it was the only way i could find to disable AVG when i did combofix, so then i decided not to re-install it. Cheers.

Hi Clairibel - Avira performed a little better than Kapersky in the AVcomparitives test: http://www.av-comparatives.org/images/stories/test/ondret/avc_report25.pdf so you might better off sticking with Antivir. Also there may be pieces of AVG left over. Appremover (http://www.appremover.com/) might be able to remove any leftover pieces. If you run app remover, select the 'clean up a failed installation' and it'll search for pieces.

Use the 32 bit AVG removal tool
    http://www.avg.com/download-tool

Then you should be good to go

  • I was also surfing innocently on google to find a new background picture - and have the one month trial of avira internet security. As occured with clairibel, I seem to have picked up a Trojan horse (agent2.aqxx) which seems to trigger whenever I open Nokia Ovi Player. The Trojan makes two .dll files which AVG picks up but which are not the route of the problem as they disappear/ or sometimes get catched by AVG.

So what is the best way to tackle this? I tried the norton online scanner which said everything was ok and AVG scanner (downloaded version) claims the same. Presently trying windows defender. Would it be worth using malwarebytes or what sort of software would be recommended for a Trojan Horse?
