Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on the best self build mortgage deals out there or any experiences to share regarding self build mortgages.

Birmingham Midshires are good They advance monies in arrears of the build Ie the surveyor establishes the valuation at different stages Prior to moving on to each stage they will advance up to 75% of LTV prior to purchasing and paying for labour instead of you paying up front helps cash flow, no surprise bridging and dont need to reside in a caravan

Wardlaw - are you sure that is the case? As I understand it the only lenders offering advance stage funding as you describe it are through the Buildloan/Buildstore insurance backed schemes. i.e. self build direct with BM Solutions is along the more traditional lines of funding in arrears with client having to fund each stage before the lender will advance funds.
