Guys,
I have used the template posted on this site to obtain further details from HSL. They contacted me ages ago and stated I have a loan from them. I wanted to clarify that I have and wanted to see the proof.
I havent had anything back from them but I have had a call from someone from the company called Field Call stating they have been instructed to meet with me and discuss the problems I have paying the debt.
I have not accepted in any way (over the phone or by letter) to this debt until I see proof. I did phone HSL helpline and they stated I had the loan out in 1998, to which I stated its statue barred. They then claimed I wrote to them in 2006 and stated I wanted to clear the debt. I have no recollection of writing any sort of letter. I asked for them to send me a copy of the letter and they have stated that they dont have it. All they have is couple of lines of text inputted on their computer system under this reference number stating I have written to them.
What are my options and what can I do ....

Maybe go to the citizens advice beurau, if you really dont have any recollection of sending them letters they may have in error typed onto your file someone elses details? im not the biggest expert but surely you could get help from CAB?:money:0

I doub't a 'couple of lines we typed into our computer' correctly or otherwise will stand up in court...0
