Sirloin steak in casseroles?????

Can you successfully slow cook Sirloin steak in a casserole? Got some packs in Sainsbury's heavily reduced, only I normally buy stewing steak and don't want to just fry or grill this. So will it be any good in a casserole?
Any advice would be most appreciated.

Hi Tibbie's Mum,
Yes you can cook sirloin steak in the slow cooker, but there isn't really any advantage to it.
One of the reasons for using a slow cooker is that by cooking meat slowly over a long period of time it becomes more tender. Sirloin is already a tender cut of meat, that's why it's so much more expensive than other cuts of beef, so it won't need to be cooked slowly to tenderise it. Personally I would prefer to grill it and buy cheaper cuts to slow cook, but it certainly won't do it any harm if you slow cook it and it will be lovely in a casserole.

I'm not keen on grilled steak but a hearty casserole with dumplings is my idea of heaven. I only bought this because it was so cheap, Sirloin steak is not a regular on my shopping list!!!
Many thanks Pink.0 -
