Grrrrr estate agents

Had the house valued today - they valued it at about 5K less than I did. Fools. Don't they know that their 25 years experience in estate agency means nothing compared to my 10 years experience of being a typist?:D

Anyway, phoned the bank (One account) and they won't lend us the money to buy, because of Mr A's newly-self-employedness.

So am now going to have to look for a self cert mortgage I think.

Have posted on the house selling board for advice, anyone here know anything about it?
My sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal

Is that £5k less because of your new carpets? How very dare they! :D

How much have similar houses in your road been selling for? Are they selling quickly?

I reckon our combined 30+ yrs in admin should knock spots off their valuation!

Luckily he said that he wouldn't bother replacing the carpets, he said it would not be detrimental to the saleability, so I've got away with that one for now!

One in our road similar to ours went for £130 a couple of months ago.

I've booked another valuation with a different estate agent for tomorrow morning, see what they come up with.

That's the nicest thing anyone has said to me in ages - thanks!

We've now had a discussion, and are going to consider the option of selling up and renting for a year or two, in order to get some self-employed accounting history behind us. And I feel better for thinking about that already.

    Life eh? Who'd have it!
