hi im getting my Alfred angelo 1622 zip up dress made into a lace up dress.
my seamstress is doing this for a very reasonable price if i can source the material for the modesty panel and lace.
i dont actually need the modesty panel as my dress needs taken in but im not keen on any flesh showing through the laces so i want to have it anyway.
the material is satin in diamond white, where can i buy this?

Take a look on ebay. Duchess Satin Material should bring up a few sellers. Some will send you samples for free so you can get a colour match.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0

Can your seamstress not source this for you?0

she said they usually use lace ribbon to make the lace ups and said that it would be cheaper for me to source it myself, its also a very busy little place and its getting done for a very reasonable price.
do you know of anywhere linda?0 -
Are they making the loops and strips themselves or sending it off to be done do you know?
I'll look into it for you. x
ETA. Ok. If it's purely for the modesty panel and lacing, you should be able to get away with a near shade. I've just done a yellow prom dress from zip to lace up and sourcing the yellow fabric was impossible for an exact match. (If you can get to my blog busy, busy, busy you'll see it)
White also varies in shade from fabric to fabric and most certainly with silks.
You can order a sample from here http://www.cheapfabrics.co.uk/thestore/product_info.php/products_id/202?osCsid=crkchfeknd43p577pha6dsv3r6 I've used these before and they are great.

i was thinking this, because my dress is too big and needs taken in ill would imagine when its laced up properly you wont even really see the modesty panel only the strips and loops

These are items from ebay sellers who sent me samples through the post for free. If you send them a message with your name and address and say you want white duchess satin they will set you several samples to try and get a colour match.

I also got some samples sent from Bridal Lace and Fabric. Complete their online form for samples. They sent me several shades of fabric.
