Buying into Partners Property

Hi everybody.
My situation is this, my partner and I have been livin together for 6 years in a mortgaged house. His name is on the deeds and he paid £30,000 deposit and he pays the monthly mortgage and I have paid all household bills and food etc since we moved in (may seem odd to some people but this suited us at the time)!
Anyhow, I would like my name on the deeds and would really like to match his deposit, just to make it fair and even. What I was wondering is do I ask for a mortgage of £30k or a loan? I am completely hopeless when it comes to all things mortgages so any help would be appreciated.
I can find lots of details on websites but nothing about buying into a property so any direction would also be welcome!
Many thanks.

You cant have 2 seperate mortgages on the same house and after living together for six years and having bills in your name IE gas, elec, water, council tax etc you can prove you have paid towards the household costs.
If you want ask OH to put your name on deeds and mortgage and pay half mortgage each month and get him to pay half of the bills!
then overpay the mortgage by say £300/500 a month until £30K pay off it.
OR jsut get married0
