free advertising?

can anyone help me with some free advertising with a new business venture please? ideas on where to advertise that is free?
i have advertised on my local netmums site which is a national site. are there any other sites like this?

I think you should say what your business is, that way people can suggest advertising that will be relevant to your business.

Let us know the sort of business, but certain parts of gumtree and craigslist are free. Also, I know it takes a while, but traffic exchange sites are worthwhile (I use trafficg). I use a couple of online earners and trafficg is the one that seems to help most.

EDIT - Also find relevant questions that are unanswered on yahoo answers. There's a surprising amount of traffic potential on there too.

Approach your local paper or publications/sites relevant to your type of business with a view to running an editorial feature on your new venture. As well as advertising revenue they always need news to fill up the pages too - you just need to find an interesting angle to present them with.

Also, why not try running a launch competition giving away free product/trial of your service.

As the others said, more info on what your business is would be helpful in order to give more sepcific ideas.

I've listed my business on gumtree, vivastreet, hot frog and free index. But most people who have visited my website have clicked through from either gumtree or vivastreet.
