I wanna buy face paints. snazaroo? or others?

Options
I've been thinking about this for a while & as 3 of my 4 children Love having their faces painted I thought it might be worth getting some & hopefully with a bit of practice I would be happy with my creations.
The ones I am looking at are the Snazaroo but are there any others that are as good or cheaper. Where is the cheapest place for them? https://www.facepaintshop.co.uk seems to be the cheapest I have found although ebay comes a close 2nd.
any help or advice appreciated.
hugs
Helen

'The Range' sells these, i can't remember how much they are, but as a whole 'The Range' are pretty competitively priced.

Sorry not to help on price - but in my experience snazaroo branded ones are fantastic to paint with.

I did really well and got mine from a recycle centre, so paid just pennies for them. Someone had donated them after a shop closure!

Sainburys sells packs of snazaroo with a book. I think they were about £4.99. Other places to try: Tesco, Early Learning Centre, Home Bargains, Woolworths, https://www.sillyjokes.com -£2.95 for individual pots.

Snazaroo, Grimas and Kryolan are good brands for face paint. Grimas and Kryolan also do grease based makeup so if you are buying either of these brands for use on children make sure it is the waterbased formula you get. Snazaroo is probably cheaper anyway though.

Beware of cheap face paints sold as toys eg. Galt which are difficult to work with and don't give any sort of opacity. They are a total waste of money.

    Hiya,

I've worked as a professional face painter and Snazaroo are by far the easiest to work with. Grimas is also wonderful but Snazaroo has the 'edge' in my opinion. I was taught with Grimas but soon became a Snazaroo convert!

I guess it's a question of personal opinion. I've also used both Snazaroo and Grimas professionally and got on with both but prefered Grimas for the slightly creamier texture. For some reason their metallics are particualry good in terms of texture as well as colour, and they do have some beautiful colours. I also like their tray system which makes it much easier to keep your work space organised and tidy but that's not so important if they're not for professional use. I've never used Kryolan but they're supposed to be the absolute bees knees. Apparently they have particularly good staying power and are sweat resistant making them the most suitable for theatrical applications but they are expensive so it would be overkill in this case. I'd definitely go with Snazaroo for home use.
