anyone switched names on a mortgage

bought house three years ago split up straight away, i kept house on but couldnt get a mortgage on my own ex agreed to stay on mortgage untill i could, have since started seeing someone else who wants to get on the mortgage can i keep mortgage and switch names or do i have to start again as put down little deposit and house price/valuation has stayed the same, any help would be much appreciated thankyou.

It's at the mortgage company's discretion - the two of you would apply - usual stuff about credit, income etc.0
