Will DWP want repayment

Options
A relative who is a single parent has been on long term benefits. She has a mortgaged house for which, for the past 10 years, the DWP have been paying the interest to the building society.

She now wants to sell the house and is wondering whether, if she does, will she need to use any of the proceeds to repay the DWP for their contributions in the past?

Thanks, in advance, for any help with this query.

    Nothing to repay.

Having money in the bank from the house sale could impact eligeability for future benefits though.
