True, but would you stop and argue with a cashier about that if they had returned your money? And even if you do, and they are investigated for it, how could anybody prove otherwise?
No, but you could say the same about a ten pound note. A fiver got put into the tenner compartment and you didn't notice.
Or as I said earlier, you could "accidently" tell the till the customer gave to £10 instead of £20. Then say "sorry, I hit the '1' instead of the '2', so the till told me to give you £6.25 change instead of £16.25 and I didn't realise the mistake"
Or you could even say "Sorry, I thought you gave me a tenner, not a twenty, my mistake"
It would be pretty hard to convince a customer that you accidently told the till they gave you £19.50 instead of £20.0 -
This is a really petty one but for some reason it really bugs me.
Very rarely I find myself needing to get petrol from a petrol station near where I work. Almost without fail, each time I lift the hose and wait for them to reset the price display, it resets but to £0.01p. This happens at different pumps and I know it's only a penny but don't we pay enough for our petrol!?
Anyway, once, I decided I wasn't going to pay the penny so I replaced the hose, waited and treid again, this time it reset to £0.00. I got my petrol and went in to pay. The cahier tried to charge me for the extra penny!!! I didn't pay though.
I know it's petty but it's not the penny, it's wondering how much they make like this every day morning, noon and night!
Now on the rare occasion I find myself needing petrol at the work side of my travelling, I use another garage even though the petrol is 1p per litre more expensive! Principles can be expensive! lol

I worked as a barmaid several years ago.
I was working on my own and it was a busy christening a customer gave me £10 and I gave him change of £20 he walked away and sat down I knew i'd done something wrong but couldn't think what anyway after a few mins I realised my mistake customer denied it and I spoke to the manager about what I had done she was working downstairs at the time .
My honesty cost me a third of my wages for the afternoon as she made me pay the £10 back
To this day whilst I could see her point I have cursed myself for being so honest if i'd said nothing she probably wouldn't have took it off me curse my honesty gene lol
Anyway the point is that it works both ways my customer swore blind that I didnt give him the money and made a nice little profit of £10 himself.:j:love: Getting married to the man of my dreams 5th November 2011:j
