Has anyone else read in the press about the first ever Real Bread Maker week?

Dig out your dusty BM and get baking :j

I know that BMs maybe aren't to everyone's taste, but the website has recipes and loads of tips, for those who want to get the best out of their BM and wake up to the smell of fresh bread :)

Or..speaking as someone whose BM gathered dust until a year or so ago, don't feel you have to follow the recipes slavishly. One of the things that put me off mine was the hassle and expense of the huge number of ingredients in the basic loaf recipe.

Yeast, flour, water, salt. Still works, still nice, and I can sling it all in the pan while waiting for the kettle to boil.

Laurel, that's what put me off using one, and i didn't have the confidence to start playing about with recipes, so gave it away (to someone who hasn't blimmin used it:mad:)

Penny - I didn't know there was such a thing as BM week :rotfl:

Did you watch the programme - search for the perfect loaf? Keep meaning to watch it, but am not sure if it only covers Handmade bread or machine also.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
