Another use for hair conditioner:
If you have very frizzy or fly-away hair, use a small blob of hair conditioner to calm down/control your hair. Smear a small blob - about the size of a 2p coin - over the palm of both hands and then smooth it over the ends of your hair. It works just as well as Frizz-Ease, at a fraction of the cost."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Good advice. My bank frequently has a cash-back deal with Waitrose (5% or 10% if you use your debit card to shop) but I never remember it, on the rare occasion that I shop there.
Also map your route so that it is the most efficient fuel wise - if you are driving - and time-wise. Ditto if your shopping trip involves a heavy purchase; you might not want to lug it around. And, in summer, if you’re buying meat or fish, plan your trip so that you buy those last (the least time between fridge and fridge the better)."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. This is not for the faint hearted....
Use the charity bag plastic wrapper ( the plastic wrapper the charity bag comes in) as a sanitary bag disposer. I always bring the sanitary bag disposer bag home when I am in a hotel.
I save newspapers (the metro) from the buses I take, cut them in halve/in 4ths and use those.
I also buy reqally cheap bleach & other cleaning items from tesco own brand. I buy other cleaning things in the £1 shop such as magic erasers for the walls , 6 metal scourers (They are £1.70 in tesco!! for 4/3!!)Descaler tablets for the kettle and other little bits like that.
I try and get my mum to grab me food waste bin bags as they are anything from £2+ and only £1.20 in her work.
I only ever buy multipacks of snacks , or like 46p/85p tortilla chips and we drink flavoured fizzy water for 40p a bottle
I drink the cheapest tesco coffee & only buy paracetomol/ibroprofen from Tesco and NEVER NHS
um and I also wash my cleaning cloths...0 -
Things like cotton wool pads (oval), kitchen roll and baby wipes (non baby uses :rotfl:) get cut for multiple uses where appropriate, which for me is most of the time.
So a sheet of kitchen roll torn into two (I use it only to wipe out cats meat bowl daily), cotton wool pad cut into 4 and baby wipes torn into 2/3 depending on what I need to use them for.
Cuts down on waste and saves the pennies.
I also use cloths for dishes and tea towels. These get put in with laundry I need to do anyway.
I admit to using cleaning wipes, but that's because with a pet if I used cloths & spray even a cloth out of the machine would just dump new pet hair where I was cleaning.0 -

Great ideas!
I find Aldi the best for cleaning stuff, as the stuff genuinely is as good as the top brand names. My paracetamol is 19p a pack, and ibuprofen usually 25p.
I use cleaning wipes, as they are easier with arthritis, but I've stopped using baby wipes as toilet wipes as they really mess up the water system. I use cheap baby lotion and toilet paper instead. Lidl do a runny, but good enough lotion. When I needed to dispose of certain items at times of the month, I never bought the expensive 'feminine' bags, always nappy bags.
For bin bags, I shamelessly use the bogus charity collection bags. I do donate a lot of stuff to genuine charity shops, British Heart Foundation collect from the house.
I haven't bought a postal box in years, I always use Amazon (or similar) boxes with the labels carefully removed. Good recycling. My sister uses the Amazon boxes filler paper as covering paper for the floor when cleaning.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I also use baking parchment, one of my concessions between no waste & health problems. But if I'm not baking a whole tray worth I cut just enough for the area I will use.
Bodyform do "roll, press & go" wrappers which mean the last towel can be sealed and disposed of in the next wrapper. They really work!0 -
I think Asda is one of the cheapest cleaning things places. They still do basics washing up liquid and dish tabs for 1.60. Wilco is good too. DD was asking where the cheapest place for bicarb for cleaning is, anyone spotted any?
I use nappy sacks for dog poo bags, they always seem to be cheaper!0 -
