Should I stay or should I go?

Options
I was considering moving jobs shortly.

I've been with my current employer since leaving Uni 10 years ago, and have had no problems with obtaining credit.

My main home is coming up for remortgage shortly. Will it be an issue in obtaining credit if I have moved jobs 2 or 3 months beforehand?

Thanks in advance

It might affect credit scoring decisions.

    - Who is your current lender?
    - What rate will you go on to if you stay with them?
    - What is your property worth?
    - How much do you owe on the mortgage?
  • I would have thought any company taking on a remortgage would want you to have completed any probabtionary period.

A&L - not been very pleased with thier customer service. The property is worth approx £1m, with a very small mortgage and a salary multiplier of well under 2.

The other factor to consider is that I have a number of BTLs, that are all profitable but have got got a lot of debt attached to them.

My gut reaction is that you'll be okay then.

The points raised above could still trip you up - but probably won't.

Worst scenario is that you end up on A&L SVR for a few months then sort it all out though.

In other words, don't put your career on hold for the sake of the remortgage.

Many thanks for this. I was concerned that applying for a mortgage and then not being accepted would have an adverse impact on my credit rating
