If you do not have time to cook Tesco Finest are good (but expensive). At the moment some of the meals come with 100 points, so if you are a Tesco point addict (like me), it's a bonus.
But I would vote with the cooking option. Spend a night (if you can) batch cooking a load of stuff like chilli, spag bog, stews, etc., and freeze it all.
Even cooking a load of stuff using the tinned cook in sauces with chicken legs and thighs for example, will work out cheaper than buying ready made meals. I used to do this when my mom first died and cooked lots of meals on one night and then froze them all in those tin trays (like you get from the Indian takeaway). My brother would get one out the feezer in the morning and pop it in the oven when he got home from work. We would have frozen vegetables cooked in the microwave. Easy quick meals.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -
Thank you all for your replies. Have spent sunday doing a batch cook & freeze. Also looked at wiltshire foods, which may come in handy.0

Even though I cook extra portions of stew and soups to freeze and take out for days when I cannot cook/no point of cooking for one when hubby is out days, I still always have back up microwave meals.
M&S - especially lasagne - are fantastic. Very often on offer 3 for £5.
Tesco frozen "steam meals". My favourite is Chicken Thai green curry (not spicy at all if you are worried about the "curry" in the name). Bird's also do fish frozen steam meal, which is really nice, but it's more expensive. Occasionaly they have it on offer though.0 -
I find that the Weight Watchers microwave meals are fine. There is a quite a large selection and you can often pick them up in Farmfoods for £1 each. They were at this price BOGOF the other week.0
