Hair dye question

I can give you all a good laugh, i had my hair dyed in a Morello Cherry colour and wanted a change.
I'd used the same colour for about 3 applications, then the other day i got bored and decided i wanted to lighten it, so i popped off to the shops and got a pre-lightener. I must point out before this my mum did try and put me off the idea! She did warn me that my hair 'could' (meaning WOULD in her words) go orange.
Anyway, me being me didn't listen and went ahead and stripped it
.
It was a total DISASTER
I ended up with real Blonde roots then my hair went from ginger to burnt orange to the tips
The kids couldnt stop laughing, neither could any of us ( i did it at my sister's house, when she had a house full) :rotfl:
Ended up having to put brown dye on, then redoing another brown a week later.
Result, believe it or not one happy Squibbs as i've achieved the result i wanted............ to get rid of the red

I think the Colour B4 only really works if you use it within a week or so of using a darker dye on your hair, any longer and its probably too settled to be removed with milder dye release treatments, sorry!
worked for me after YEARS of build up! i had been dying my hair red for like 3 years0 -

I feel your pain - I've dyed my hair black and red alternatively for years. Going black is easy, just apply and voila.
6 years ago when going from black to red I too went for the pre-lightener route. I had shoulder length hair and was also warned by the whole planet and their dog about the "orange thing" but I didn't care. And I didn't - about the orange. What I didn't expect was the "green thing". I had to apply the red on every week for 3 months until it was all the same colour.
I learnt my lesson and when I decided to go back to red from black at the end last year I took the plunge and grew my hair for 4 months (sheer hell - I've never seen so much of my natural colour in years) before cropping it short and dying it red. Much better, if drastic.

My friend dyed her hair purple and then decided to go back to her orginal colour which was dark blonde, she used Colour B4 i dont think it was that expensive alot cheaper than going to a hair salon and hair salon damage your hair when removing the colour. so would suggest that you try it out, all the reviews on Boots are good. Let me know how it goes
