I cooked a cheese and potato bake in my slow cooker on tuesday. I usually leave it in for 6 hours on low while I'm out but I got held up and it was in for 8
When I got home the meal was slightly overcooked but the edges of it were really welded to the sides. I put it in soak and scraped the excess off but now I'm left with burnt potato and cheese in it which just will not shift. It's been in soak since tuesday evening and nothing seems to budge it. I've tried washing up liquid, stardrops, bicarb and astonish. Is there anything else I can try or is it time for a new slow cooker?

How about some bio washing powder, and leave it in sc with it switched on low for a few hours then wash as normal. This worked for me when I burnt caramel to the bottom of my favourite saucepan. If it doesn't work you haven't lost anything if the alternative is to throw the sc away.
It may also be worth checking on freecycle/ebay/manufacturers website to see if you can just get hold of a replacement crockpot rather than replace the whole thing.0 -
I'd soak it like Nicki said and put in on low for a few hours.
If that doesn't work you could always try vinegar.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Some boiling water and a dishwasher tablet might do the trick.0
