Tesco Express clubcard points on fuel ... ?

Odd, but can someone tell me since when did Tesco give Clubcard points on fuel at Express sites? It was my understanding, as a shopper and an ex-employee, that because Esso supplies the fuel Tesco don't offer Clubcard points.

As a rule I don't use them but I had to today and it wasn't until I looked at the receipt tonight I noticed the "You could have earned 25 Clubcard points in this transaction" message on the receipt.

Any answers greatly appreciated ....

If that's what it says on your receipt - then - when you are next in the store see someone at the counter with the receipt & your clubcard and they should put the points on.
A local one for me has recently had 'Esso' on the receipt - and I have heard that it no longer gives points, previously I thought there needed to be Esso signs up but maybe not --
Incidently, only the big stores with added petrol stations generate a 'pfs' on the clubcard statement - not the Express, just because you haven't got a 'pfs' on your statement doesn't mean you didn't get fuel pts!
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

That was my intention anyway! However just for the record Express's won't/can't add points, has to be main store ... unless they've changed their policy in the last few months!?

Yeah, the receipt shows Tesco Express and Esso but if it's a Tesco/Esso site ... Alliance site ... they never used to give points on fuel .. change of decision or "male-chicken" up in the IT department?

Again, that'll go back to the fact that you don't or didn't get points on fuel from an Alliance site!

Esso don't supply all of Tesco, just the alliance stations with Tesco Express. Greenergy supply fuel to the supermarket stations, which is owned in part by Tesco themselves.

You will do as that's sightly different, TPF points are issued regardless of where you spend ... you just happen to get more if you use them in at Tesco.

    Never said they did! :p

So ... the question still stands, when did Tesco start to give Clubcard points on fuel at Express sites?

TPF points are the same where ever - for Tesco credit cards, just depends whether you have a standard or Platinum card. For a CC+ believe its only for Tesco use.

See previous answer, if it is a Tesco Express = pts, unless Tesco Esso/Express - see receipt = no pts. I could try my local one, but as I said earlier have heard it's a no pointer.

Yeah, my mistake if you use a TPF card its 1 point for £4 spent anywhere, use it at Tesco same rule applies but you can also use your clubcard and get even more points .. I was sure that TPF used to give more points, something like a 1 for £1 basis, for using it at a Tesco stores?!?

... that's my whole point from the beginning!!! I used it a Tesco Esso Alliance Express to buy fuel, nothing else, and still got the offer of points and the barcode at the bottom of the receipt that a main store will use to add the points to my Clubcard.

and while I was checking out the TPF points business I noticed this on the bottom of the Clubcard site ...
*Sorry you can't collect points on tobacco, lottery products, prescription medicines, infant milk formulae and Esso fuels.
So have Tesco male-chickened it up then and you can't get points on fuel at Express/Alliance sites

No offence but I seem to be going round in circles with this, I'll try getting an answer on VLH

My TPF card (platinum - had it from very early on) gives me 1 point for every £2 spent anywhere, and also acts as my Clubcard, maybe this is what you were thinking of?

I do have another clubcard, but can't use it in combination with this.

You don't get points on Esso fuel - does your receipt give you details of what you bought fuelwise (pump number, etc.), or does it just say "FUEL"? I haven't heard of any "trails" but the store I'm in definitely doesn't give points on Esso.

Also, Express stores CAN add points on. If you have a receipt with a barcode, usually any CA can (although sometimes store policy is difference) but anyone with a supervisor account can add points on.

...for the record, I'm a Duty Manager for Tesco Express... :)
