Dress colour?

Hi, this is probably a really stupid question, but is it OK for a guest to wear a white dress with a floral pattern on to a wedding? I know wearing a plain white dress is a big no-no, but does the pattern make it OK?!
Thanks

I would say it depends on how much of a pattern it has? if its mainly white I personally wouldnt, but if it is quite colourful it should be ok? could you ask the bride what she thinks of the dress? at least you'd know for sure then0

My MIL wore a white dress to my wedding:mad:. I didn't know till I got to church and was NOT happy!!!! My mum rejected a cream suit so as not to wear the same colour as the bride!0

My guests can wear cream or white if they like...but if any of 'em turn up in purple like me I'll kill 'em :rotfl:0

i dont understand why its wrong to wear white to a wedding!
i have gone before 'oh you cant wear white' but i dont know why?? it must have been peer pressure!
i wore a white top with big red flowers to a night do once and im still here to tell the tale
on the day alot of people complimented how nice it was
that is a good idea though, to ask the bride if she mindsI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -

A guest at my mums wedding wore a wedding dress pretty much!! she was a bit of a tart tho.. the worst thing was, tart or not, she had a nice figure and i know my mum was upset because she felt upstaged.
I would personally avoid white at all costs.. lol9/70lbs to lose

No problem - most people attending know who the bride is, so there won't be any confusion.
It's only a recent thing that lots of people have become anxious about the colour of the guests' outfits.
If your outfit is not 'bridal', there's no problem. Problem is if you have a bridezilla who may be insecure."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -
You could try asking the Bride if she minds, she may not have a problem with it. I personally think that guests should stay clear of white, cream, ivory etc or purple if that is what the bride is wearing
