KPR I'm so very glad you are staying. These things happen, and instead of ignoring it, just accept it and clamber back on the wagon. I was actually going to point out that some of your budgets were actually under so you didn't do as badly as you thought. However, I figured something may have happened so I wouldn't press you too much.
Welcome back though dude!!! As for the coffee, do you use the free wifi in starbucks? can you get a loyalty card so you get a free coffee every now and then? Or try independent coffee places, I went to one in Covent garden while waiting for my friend and it was 2 quid for a cappucino.
Also, I'm about to dive off the wagon big style as I've got lots of things planned for my birthday (how was your gfs in the end??) and I really want to go up to edinburgh next month before my friend leaves his job up there so I won't be doing much MSE'ing but I'm still overall in a far better position than I was in November.
WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!! xxx0 -
Hello PPB!
Though I was having doubts about the DFW journey, I think it is a very good thing because it shows I am thinking about my budgets and the money I have. Previously I would have just dipped in to my OD or used my CC and not thought about it.
I just need to find a reasonably priced, healthy way of feeding myself cause atm I am doing 6.45 to c11 everyday (with the exception of today)!
I do use the free wifi at starbucks and I do try to go to nero more than starbucks cause of the loyalty card there (pretty crap if you ask me, only get the 10th free). My only worry with independents is that they close early, I tend to work away at nero till 10 (with the same "extra hot" or should i say "extra cold" coffee that I bought at say 5.30
) but I will try one, do you know what it was called?
I am sure MSE allows you to treat yourself and look after yourself! You will have a wonderful time up there. Have you decided when you are going to go up?
Her b'day was good, we spent the day (and weekend) together, took her out for a meal and decided to get her tickets to this comedy gig (i will whisper the reason, it was working out a lot cheaper).

So no paris? Another time maybe.... comedy gigs are always good fun!
If I go, it will be 22nd May or so, not really sure if I can justify it so I shall see how much I get paid. Hmm maybe a treat or two is allowed, but 4 days worth?!!!! It will be great though!
I'm the same as you, you would find the money be it borrowed or begged to pay for things but now we seem to be thinking more about what we are doing and spending. I can't remember the last time I used my cc actually, might be january?
It was just a tiny little christian one about 3 doors down from bare escentuals/mac on Neal St. But they probably didn't have wifi, and I went in at lunchtime so no idea what time they close.
anyway, if you do overspend one month don't beat yourself up about it, it happens. you will figure something that works for you eventually.x0 -
