Most efficient lender?

Options
Would like to know, based on the previous experiences of board users, which lender is currently the best in terms of processing speed (provided all documentation is ready and correct)? Some of them are currently giving me the 4-6 weeks timeline, which is a bit too long for us.

TIA

    Depends.

    - how much are you borrowing
    - how much are you buying for
    - how long have you been in your job
    - how long have you been at your current address

Loads of other factors too. If there is real urgency then go through a broker who will have a feel for who's quick at the moment.

Try a smaller building society. Though some only lend in their "area".

You may think everythings in order the lender may think otherwise.

They will all give you the 4 to 6 week timeline....it's a stock answer in this industry.

The question needs to be "of the lenders whose criteria I meet who is currently the fastest?" and without more info we will struggle to answer I'm afraid.

You may also find that the quickest are also more expensive (hence them having the capacity to deal with things more quickly).

Sorry I can't be more helpfull at the moment...post more detail and we'll see what we can come up with
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!
  • Thanks for the comments. FTB, been in the same workplace for past 9 years, in current flat for 6 months, looking to lend 45% of the property price (£380K), moved last September.

And yes, 4-6 weeks seems to be the standard answer!
