Is anyone making their own cupcake stand?
If so, how are you doing it?

My daughter made one for my granddaughters christening.
She bought cake boards in 3 sizes (depends on how high you want the stand to be). Covered them with paper and put ribbon round the edge. She used empty cans covered in the same paper for the middle, in hindsight she says she would have used full cans as using empty ones left one end with a very small area to glue to the board and it would have also given it more stability.
She was intending to put the actual christening cake on the top, but in the end due to the fact she thought it might fall (this was only due to the empty can, would have had no probs with a full one) decided on just layering cupcakes and displaying the christening cake separately.
