leftover wool knitting challenge

I have loads of leftover wool at home so I have set myself a challenge of knitting them all up into a blanket for my daughters bed. I knot even small bits together and wind it all up into a ball.
I use big needles (size 7mm or whatever you have thats a big size) and knit 3 balls together, not worried about tension as it will all even out in the wash.
I have knit a long piece (40stitches) already and started on another so will sew said pieces together to make a blanket, then crochet round edge to neaten off.
Anyone with leftovers care to join me?

I'd like to join in please! :j
I have some small amounts of wool that I bought from our charity table (no one else wanted them) so far I have nearly finished a shawl which was a really easy pattern I got from the internet. Just large needles and plain garter stitch increasing at each end of row. The wool is a really pretty random blue/turquoise fluffy stuff. I need some encouragement to finish it though and to then start knitting up some black fluffy stuff!
I used to use up my odd bits of wool by crocheting blankets for the kids years ago and the blankets are still in use.Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

My late nanna made me a patchwork blanket out of wool oddments. I used to use it when I went to stay overnight when I was very small. Can't remember what happened to it now
. I know I brought it with me when I left home

Just got a few more rows to do on the shawl, can't make up my mind if it needs a fringe
and then I can start something new.

I'm up for it, although I have so much Xmas knitting to do I might be rather slow. I like the idea of using 7mm needles and several balls of wool - neat idea. Does it come out variegated?“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
