Received my first solicitors letter today re: repossession

Hi everyone

Had a letter from Tucker Turner Kingsley Wood solicitors today warning of repo if arrears aren't settled within 7 days (instructed by NR). This is my first letter I've had off them.

I havn't paid the mortgage for 3 months and I've been bankrupt 1 month.

I am not interested in the house and want it gone.

Does anyone know what kind of timeframe I'm looking at before the actual repossession date?

Just inform them you have gone bankrupt as of x date. Are you renting now?

I'm not renting no i'm still in the house.

I could do with staying here as long as possible to save up for 6 months rent in advance.

I'm just wondering how long I've got.

How long do NR take to repo a house from first solicitors letter?

    Suggest that you contact Shelter:

Thanks for the advice. I will be contacting Shelter.

Has anyone else been through this with Northern Rock?

    How long did it take?

Did you have contact with both NR and the solicitors during the process?

I have not had any contact at all with anyone since I stopped paying the mortgage. I just cancelled the direct debit and that's it.
  • I've seen on here where NR have done it within 6 months of last payment and I have seen them take longer than a year. So I am afraid it is how long is a piece of string question.
