Making your own funeral flower arrangement

Hi,
My nan passed away a couple of weeks ago and the funeral will be on Tuesday.
I have only just been informed by my mother that we are responsible for our own funeral arrangment.
She thinks it would be nice if I made my own. Not only for the personal touch but also it is cheaper.
I was thinking of a little basket but past that I'm out of ideas! What are flowers that are used for funerals? What should never be used? Any ideas greatfully recieved!
Thank you

Apparently Anemonied, carnations, roses, and chrysathiums but anything really. She liked blue.0

Use any or all of those, or anything else that is blue.
Google how to make a wreath or flower arrangement.
It might actually work out more than one from a florist, so maybe get a couple of quotes before you buy everything to make one.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Sorry for your loss. There is no set way to do anything personally. For my Grandad's funeral i chose to get some flowers from Marks and Spencer as he liked shopping there once a week and he used to buy me some roses from there when i was poorly so you do what you want and whats right for you...
I would go with the suggestion of what your Nan would have liked....0 -
I don't think this will be appropriate for a cut flower arrangement, but perhaps you could plant some forget-me-not to remember her by?0

Yea I was thinking of going to Waitrose or Marks and buying a big bunch of flowers or a few smaller ones and then arranging them into a basket. I already had a basket that wasn't being used in the garage.
The forget-me-nots are a nice idea - thank you.
If she could see the flowers she would be very happy. She loved it when we made things for her. She preferred the personal touch.0 -

Maybe not in a cut flower arrangement, but I have done a living wreath for a funeral before. You gt a foam circular base, spoon out holes and plant things in, for example I used hyacinths, tete a tete, primorse, trailing ivy, then you can either cover the foam with moss or foliage.
Not everyones thing but something a bit different, then after the funeral service you cajn plant them somewhere special£23366/ £39206.92 DFD Nov 20160 -
when my friend passed away last year we couldn't afford to buy her anything big so what we as small group did was buy a few blocks of oasis, 10 bunchs of gerberas and the got to work creating something pink with a playboy bunny.
it looked lovely.

Here is my little basket I made. Do excuse the mess around! I made it on the morning of the funeral and didn't have enough time to tidy before we had to leave so the photo's were quick.
