Ebay DSR's

I got one of these emails from ebay, despite posting everything the day it sells, or the next day, and having dozens and dozens of "fast efficient service" comments in my feedback.
I think the key to this whole thing will be found in the second email, "Recommendations to improve your buyers satisfaction". In this ebay say:
"In today's online market, buyers expect to be charged either actual postage costs or receive free postage."
So, you sell something, possibly at the start price of 99p, pay both ebay and Paypal. You then buy a jiffy bag and lastly pay Royal Mail for the stamp.
Ebay then would like you to charge nothing for postage, or just the cost of the stamp?
Is it me?0 -
As long as we get the same net profit then I really don't give a toss.if you incorporate postal costs into prices, then of course you pay ebay a percentage.
No-one makes the buyers choose the inclusive option, they do it themselves.
We sell things on Amazon too, and get way more profit than we could do on ebay after Amazon have took their (much bigger than ebay) share.
Do we care that Amazon makes more?
Not really, since we do too.
Sorry, am I supposed to be impressed?PS with somebody who has had over 10,000 feedbacks, on various ebay accounts (business and personal) over the years, I have a little idea what I am talking about.
I've dealt with buyers and sellers who have huge scores and are still complete numpties. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

We moved to free postage a while ago and DSR's since have been great in all categories - never below 4.7. Actually if anything we have made more money as we seem to get more multiple purchases and as many of our items are quite light we pay broadly the same postage as we would if they only bought one item!0

No. I don't expect you to be impressed. To be honest I don't really care. It was just you point that the buyer pays.
You will see the light one day, that you use ebay (and Amazon) like I do. Not worship them!!!;)Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

The point being of course that you wouldn't then start at 99p you would start the item at the price you need to cover post and packing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is true, but you would then no longer qualify for free listing.
Because of ebays policy on the postage for books, CDs etc I am sending these to the charity shop as it is.
Looks like they will soon be followed by any small cheap item at all. :rotfl:0 -

You will never win with soolin. He hasn't seen the light. Still thinks it never rains in ebay towers!!Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
Just to explain how daft these DSR's are. Just had a neutral feedback. I thought these playing cards would have been bigger. I'm sure the pro ebay brigade will say that I should have put measurements!!!
ps they were standard size playing cardsAsk me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

No just the rubbish and Tatt anything that is actually worth anything you can list at a sensible price and it will sell so you don't have to continuously relist at 99p.
Some sellers seem to be under the illusion that ebay is a charity0 -

I'm sure Mr Ebay will be happy sticking up for him. What has starting items off at 99p got to do with ebay being a charity??Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0
