Can I fly with a broken ankle?
Ria
I fell over and went to causualty last Saturday. X Ray showed up a fracture of my ankle but probably an old one. I am going to the fracture clinic today & am wondering whether, if they put me in a cast, will Thomas Cook allow me to fly this coming Saturday as there is no way I can afford another holiday later. Does anyone know what rules are about flying with a cast please. Thanks

If they don't, surely your holiday insurance will cover it?
I can't think why they shouldn't - injured footballers get home OK if they break things abroad.
Be worth letting your insurance people know if you can still go, so that you're not caught out in the event of needing medical treatment whilst abroad. (Pre-existing conditions and all that)How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
They won't allow you to sit adjacent to the emergency exits, but should allow you to fly. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

Hi,
I ended up in plaster following a none to successful skiing trip. I had to obtain a fit to fly certificate from the dr to fly home.
Additionally they put me in a cast that was only round the back of my leg, the front was bandaged to allow room if my leg swelled during the flight.
You should be ok as long as you get the certificate.
Hope this helps."If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.":DMiss Mona, The Best Little *****house in Texas0 -
Bit late now, maybe, but it's the potential swelling which is the problem.Additionally they put me in a cast that was only round the back of my leg, the front was bandaged to allow room if my leg swelled during the flight.
A friend had a complicated wrist fracture on holiday which was pinned and cast. She couldn't fly home unless they put the cast on as two separate halves, which they were concerned wouldn't be stable enough. So she ended up on the Eurostar.Signature removed for peace of mind0
