No i'm not just making it up (its in their manifesto)
Lib Dems are going to put VAT on house building
in this market that is effectively house builders profit margin wiped out
therefore all private development sites will just be mothballed and the majority of people in the industry will lose their jobs
work in the construction industry - vote Lib Dem - lose your job simples
Can you direct me to the page no please? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Why are the house builders effectively subsidised, anyway? Shouldn't they pay VAT like any other industry and demand will drive building projects naturally?Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0

why do private house builders have to provide affordable homes and open space and play equipment onsite and offsite etc etc etc etc0 -

because if they don't they don't get Planning permission- simples.
With an attitude like that you wont garner a lot of sympathy.
Its my view that the building industry - like others by the looks of is wildly inflated anyway- and some of them making the most eye watering profits. in the boom whilst all the time over ramping the market to crash point.
The alternative is to keep on building new- ( to increasingly lower standards, certainly in terms of units on sites - I can speak in london they knock down a block of 12 flats and a block of 48 goes up in its place, minus the gardens/ obviously), lets not allow quality of life to get in the way of making a profit. Something im sure you agree with, regardless of who has to exist in these properties at the end.
In sure you wont agree, if you are in construction. Maybe the raft of green jobs might employ the distanced builders and other tradespeople. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

with regards to quality of life due to knocking down a block of flats and replacing it with a block of 48 flats without gardens
if the developer didn't do this he wouldn't get planning permission - simples0
