M$S Sofa v SofaSofa

Hi everyone

Wondered if you can give me some advice.

I want to purchase a new sofabed and 2 seater sofa and have seen that M&S have 30% off until next week.

I have also looked as sofas at sofasofa which are also quite nice.

M&S include the swatch protection, and although still more expensive I wonder if they will be better quality.

Has anyone got experience of M&S Sofas, have you been happy with your purchases, or if you have gone with SofaSofa have you been happy with them.

I have done a google search, but negatives on both M&S and SofaSofa tend to be with deliveries or aftersales not actually quality of the sofas.

Any personal experiences miuch appreciated.

Sale at M&S is on until next Wednesday and SofaSofa have permanent Sale so want to finally make a decision LOL.

There is about 300-400 pounds in price difference so want to know its worth spending the bit extra. I am really thinking of M&S and their quality but not sure if it is the same with their furniture, their food is YUM YUM.

Thanks in advance guys and girls.

i dont think its fairthat you mention sofasofa as having a sale on all the time...

i think they do genuinely have their sales and they then take an extra 10% percent off sale prices now and again

DD2 is currently sitting on a 12 year old 2 seater sofa from M&S. We bought a 3 seater and a 2 seater at least 12 years ago, the 2 seater wasn't used much as we all sat on the 3 seater. About 2 years ago the 3 seater was getting a bit worse for wear as the cushion covers on the seats were wearing out, they'd been washed a fair few times and regular use had worn the fabric at the front of the seat cushions and that one bit was a starting to get threadbare, the sofa was still really good so we just put a throw over the seats. We finally replace the sofas in December with a 3 seater and 2 seater in leather moving the 2 seater M&S one to the dining room. I wish we'd bought a spare set of covers for the M&S one when we bought it as we the whole family prefer the old M&S one to the new leather ones. Fortunately the leather pair were only £400, I hope to replace them with nwe M&S ones when they're a couple of years old if I can afford it. Whether the ones they sell now are as good as the ones I bought 12 year ago who knows. Hope you love whatever you buy.

I have a 4.5 year old M&S leather sofa and it is still in good condition. quality is very good and easily survives damage from a 4 year old and a two year old.

Can highly recommend M&S leather sofas.
    Cheers,

We have a couple of M&S sofas which are now about 8 years old. I've never been very impressed by them, the seat cushions sagged very badly from very early on and no amount of plumping has ever helped. Personally I'd not recommend them.

Wrong forum, maybe shop but don't drop would be better than grabbit which isn't for questions or requests.
  • I used to work for m&s in the aftersales department for furniture. I would recommend them, they have a 5 year aftersales service which was pretty good, at least when I was there. From what they told us all the furniture was built to exceed the british standards for usage. The main area we got complaints was delivery, you cant really pick a date or time, you have to be in when they tell you they can come or just wait for another date which caused no end of arguments! Their upholstery furniture is also made in the UK (although with materials sourced from abroad!)

I've had a 2 seater and a 3 seater sofa from M&S which is now 10 years old. The frame of the sofas are still in perfect condition, the fabric is getting a little worn, but I would expect that after 10 years of constant use. The seat cushions were becoming very compacted, we replaced the filling and put new foam in all the seat cushions a couple of years ago which inproved the look of the sofas. We are looking or new sofas and would definately go with M&S next time.
    Waddle you do eh?

I bought a m&s sofa in their 50% off sale at Christmas. I am delighted with it. Very well made, cushions firm but comfy, lovely fabric. Wish I'd bought two!
