DHSS lack of support

15 years ago I bought my house with a £32k mortgage, the house was a mess so I started to rebuild it. I couldn't get any money so I used credit cards and personal loans, after some years I reached a good state of repair and got a secured loan with my orrigonal mortgage. I did the same a few years later to build 2 extensions and once again went to a bank after the work was done to pay off loans and credit cards. The house has been completed for a few years now, but I recently became unemployed so the DHSS will support my orrigional mortgage but want £50k of receipts that I don't have to be able to support the rest of my mortgage.
Anyone got any clues as to an approach, after all the PM said no one who has been made redundant should loose their house, well I only worked without a break for 23 years.

"lose"
It all depends about your other savings etc. I think it might be £16k - if you have more than that then you don't get any help. And then, its after 13 weeks.
there is no "approach" - you are either entitled, or you're not.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Complain to your MP about the Benefits Agency rules.0 -
I thought the taxpayer was only going to pay for the house, not improvements that have been added to the mortgage. May be wrong though.0
