Good DVD recorder at Tesco £69

Coming in at just under £69 at my local Tesco:
Lite-On 5115GHC+ DVD recorder & divx player.
Does + and - discs and probably the cheapest DVD recorder with videoplus function.
Same item was previously £80 at amazon, but gone back up to £100 now.

My complaints, however, are:
- does not record in rgb mode
- does not record in widescreen mode, but I think this is the same for all dvd recorders.
- only sends an scart passthrough signal from sky to TV in 4:3 AR and in mono.

i have one of these - and for what it is - its very good.
you can also hack it to make it multi-region (check https://www.dvd-reviewer.co.uk)Willow: I knew it, I knew it, well not in the sense of having the slightest idea, but I knew there was something I didn't know!0 -

Just a quick question. I've got a JVC dvd recorder that seems great but makes a noise all the time (even when off - if the powers connected).
Has anyone else had trouble with this? Do dvd recorders generally do this? Do these have flaws like this?
Thanks0 -

i think in general, with most dvd recorders while the disc is initially being read then they are a little noisier than you may have expected, but noise is noise, it doesnt bother me.
but certainly no noise once in operation and when switched "off".0
