he wants to man up and do the right thing but
How would a man find out his student loan details when they are lost. He cannot find the original agreement.
However the catch is he doesn't want them to know he has contacted them before he finds out what's up with it all. He wants to know how deep in the mud he is and then decide how he is going to re float the boat but rather do that in his own time without them breathing down his neck. It's been over six years since any contact and now he may be financially able to sort it out in one payment. But needs to see how much he owes them in fines and punishments etc
He wants to do the right thing but wants to prepare for negotiating warfare first. He is willing to pay back the original debt and thinks that he does not have any CCJ against him although has not checked officially.

What are you talking about?0 -
how simpler do you want it?
OK
How does someone call student loans to find how much they owe without them knowing you have contacted them? Is that easier to follow einstein?0 -

Well I'm guessing that you'd have to break into their building, steal someones computer log in, and pull up your details (all without having been shown how to use their computer system, of course).
Otherwise, when you phone up, you have to say something along the lines of "Hello, its Jacktiper calling, how much do I owe, please?".
If you can work out how to do it without them knowing, I should imagine GCHQ would like to hear from you.
Oh, and by the way, I'm not an idiot, I was merely confused by your extremely unusual style of writing, especially writing in the third person when there was no need.
Good luck!0 -
I'm new here but if i understand right you're asking, How do you call SLC, get them to check your debt, tell you and then forget they've done it?
How about one of those magic sticks from Men in Black?
On a slightly more practical note, SLC co are pretty good (at least in my experience) for this.
I was about 3 years late before I contacted them about making repayments - They were happy to start from then and didn't go back for payments from the previous 3 years.
If your friend is possibly in a position to settle in one payment, there is nothing to worry about - they accept they owe money, they accept they have 'done wrong' by not paying so far, surely the sensible thing is to face up to it and deal with whatever they find out?0 -
Wouldn't 'manning up' and facing up to the fact just involve contacting them and sorting it out rather than trying to be sneaky and get around the system?
The SLC aren't daft and won't just give out the details to anyone without knowing it's the account holder. Student loans won't show up on credit files so unless he has the original documentation or knows somewhere he can get it without going direct to the SLC then 'he' doesn't have much choice but to own up and face up to it.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

They don't. The operator is not likely to discuss someones financial details without confirming the id of the caller. The call will no doubt be logged.Skip dipper and proud....0 -

He doesn't want to 'man up' at all. He wants to see if he can be bothered to pay it or not.
They will catch up with him eventually anyway, and he will then have to pay back the money he effectively trying to steal!0 -
Actually - having read your 'Uncle Fester' post too, I have mis-understood - you are just trying to give people a laugh which has worked!!
You are stark raving bonkers!!:rotfl::beer:0
