    Hi Top drawer,
I feel the same. Wonder where the poor dog had to go? The mind boggles.
Hopefully nobody will provide these ignoramuses with another puppy to abuse

Isn't this down to the group admin not being vigilant enough and stopping excessive wants or transactions involving animals?
I agree that these requests are obscene, but the group has to police itself and take a stand against the abusers and unworthy types.

I agree, I have emailed a complaint and unjoined from the group saying the same thing but the email address is dead and the email has been returned as "undeliverable."

Since Freecycle went independant this group has got worse and worse and I dread getting the emails.
  • On the Nuneaton & Bedworth Freecycle group (local to me) 'animal posts are not allowed whatsoever', which from your experience above sounds like a good policy. Perhaps you could suggest to the moderator of your local group that they do the same? - if you can get through to them that is!

    hi,

I emailed the moderator and she replied about a week later saying that she didnt see a problem as these types of posts dont get an answer anyway. She went on to say that as long as some items found new homes (things which would have been thrown away) then did it matter really if there were a few silly posts?

She completely missed the point that if I dread getting the emails and often didnt bother even opening them because invariably its full of Wanted's (some realistic, others much less so) and very few many decent offers (I suspect the reason lies somewhere in my point) and have unsubscribed as a result then maybe other people feel the same and have taken similar actions.
