The freeview box hunt for under £30

Hi All

I looking for a decent and reliable freeview box.

Initially I thought the freeview boxes were all equal, until I read a some reviews on Amazon and Ebuyer. There really is some junk out there.

Does anyone know of a good reliable box for under £30?

Thanks for reading

Richer sounds have them at under £30 and their additional warranty scheme is the best you will get - full refund of the warranty charge if you don't make a claim on the warranty.

This is the new "Tecknika" box which has not long come in. It is an own brand box so to speak, as is the cheaper Digilogic.

The Technika box however is far better than the Digilogic. It is made by different people and is very nice looking, and very small. The software on it is the same as is on some Bush, Daewoo and Top-Up TV models and is far more reliable and easy to use than on other cheap boxes.

All in all a good box for £29.97. With the 500 free points you'll get £5 of Tesco vouchers or if your into the clubcard deals its worth £20, making it even better.

Just looked on www.Tesco.com and can't find it. Maybe it's instore only, which is a pain since I'm not that close to a large Tescos. They did have a message on a the site saying that their Electricals is closing down (but will be open soon).

    Still looking.......

I also bought one from eBay - a Philips DTR200 but sent it back as it didn't work.

I've just found good reviews for matsui dtr 1. Has anyone got this? Would they recommend it?

    Thanks for reading.

I remember it doing it once or twice but you just have to pull the power lead out and put it back in and its fine! even my sky box does it occasionly.

If you want to ask more - go ahead!
