Given false info over the phone

I recently telephoned Tesco Finance regarding a loan I currently have with them. I phoned to confirm what dates my final two payments would be taken. The man told me, much to my surprise - that I now only had one further payment to make and that it would be taken from my bank in May.
Last week though I received a call form Tesco collections regarding two missed payments. I paid the first one there and then and agreed to pay the last one next week.
I would like to take this case further and and get out of the final payment as I was given false information and then decided to use my 'extra' money to pay off another debt. Is this likely achievable? Any suggestions?

So you can prove what was said to you then ?
"get out of the final payment" - on what grounds ?
Because you say "the man" told you - Good luck with this.

Its hardly the crime of the century, so the man mayb made a mistake, are you happy for him to be hauled over the coals for it.

i would certainly put in a complaint about the misinformation that you were given, do this in writing to them. As for the last payment I doubt that they will be able to do anything about that as you have signed a contract which is legally binding.0

I doubt they will be able to find the recording, so unless you have your own copy, I doubt if you will get anywhere.0 -
If you thought you had only one payment left to pay then Id say fight it but you knew there were 2 payments left so Id pay them.
