Student Loan Rate

March RPI Inflation came in at 4.4%, so after a year of 0% interest on our student loans, from this September we have a significant increase to look forward too.

Last year we had the threat of deflation, this year inflation, lets hope it doesn't run up more....

  • but whats this it says on the article on MSE?

    If the highest base rate of 11 major banks plus 1% point is lower than March's RPI, the student loan rate will drop to that.

    so this could feasibly be the case that a bank rate plus 1% could be lower than 4.4% so maybe we'll be paying lower still?
  • I think another petition is going to be needed to clarify this asap!!

    4.4% this year would be horrific!
