advice please

hi sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, am unsure!
basically recieved a letter from a collection agency saying we will be calling you between 8am and 9am on saturday if you dont want us to call us first.
now panicking do they mean call as in phone ( they dont have our number) or call as in at the house.
i have an idea in my head that they are not allowed to the house without a court order unless its a court fine or tax bill debt (its not)
sorry if this is wrong or nonsense but have a toddler and am pregnant and not up to facing men at the door. thanks

    Hi

This is a standard trick. They are intentionally vague in the letter to panic you into thinking someone will knock on your door and get you to contact them.
The vast majority of the time they mean they will try to call you by phone (its a standard letter so they may not even realise they don't have your number!)

In the unlikely chance anyone did turn up then they have no rights (they cannot take anything from your house or outside - thats baliffs not just debt collectors). Debt collectors have less rights than a paper boy knocking on your door. Just tell them to leave. If they argue for a second you could call the police.

But I'd be almost certain they won't turn up.
