Hi there I really hope some one can help me.
At the moment I live in a rented 2 bedroom flat & need a 1 bedroom flat as my daughter has left home & for financial reasons I need a smaller one. Have only been in it since Dec but it is working out really expensive in heating.
I have found a 1 bed flat which is £20 less a month - however estate agents want 1st month rent £380 plus bond £380 upfront. As I am on JSA there is no way I have that money spare at the moment. I am due £400 bond back off the flat I am in now but won't get it till I move out.
I was hoping to apply for a budgeting loan but have been told you need to be on JSA for 26 weeks to apply & I have only been on 16 weeks.
I have no savings whatsover.
Could anyone advise me where I could borrow £900 from with the promise of paying back the £400 bond when I get it.
Many thanks

Is it really worth it to save £20 a month?0

As you are on JSA don't you get housing benefit? if you do would that not cover the £380 first months rent?
You could possibly try a credit union but they usually like you to have been saving with them first. But could be something to look into. Failing that i would imagine you would struggle to find a loan at anything other than horrendous rates without having an income.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
some councils will help with deposits/advance rents, but to be honest i think you are wasting your money, everywhere has been expensive to heat this winter its been bloody cold, stay where you are and watch your bills fall anytime soon0
